Getting started

Create an account, sign in, browse your trips, and open the planner.

Create or access your account

Open OpenTrip, choose Start planning, and continue with email, Google, or WeChat. Available providers depend on how the deployment is configured.

Browse the trips home

After sign-in you land on the trips library. Each card shows status (for example planning, active, or settled), dates, cover art, and member avatars.

From the home hub you can also open:

  • Today — a current place, weather, and quick actions between journeys
  • Travelogues — personal moment capture (device-local preview today)

On narrow screens those destinations appear in the bottom navigation. See Today and weather, Travelogues, and WeChat and mobile.

Create a trip

  1. Choose Create trip.
  2. Describe the destination and choose travel dates.
  3. Optionally note party size or a planned budget. These fields do not pre-create members or expenses.
  4. Review the suggested cover (Unsplash when a destination is set), then create.

OpenTrip navigates into the planner. On first open you may see a one-shot AI-suggested draft; review it before treating anything as confirmed.

Open an existing trip

Select a trip card to open the planner. Desktop uses a sidebar plus Map / Schedule / Reservations / Budget tabs. Mobile uses a bottom tab bar and sheets for itinerary, stop detail, and the AI companion.

Before inviting companions

Add enough context for the group to recognize the plan:

  • a clear trip name;
  • correct dates and destination;
  • the first few confirmed reservations;
  • notes for decisions that are still open.

Next: build the itinerary or invite your travel group.
