Manage reservations
Record lodging, transport, and activity bookings beside the itinerary.
Reservations keep confirmed bookings next to the plan so the group does not hunt through chat for confirmation numbers.
Add a reservation
- Open the trip and choose Reservations.
- Create a reservation and choose its type (lodging, transport, or activity).
- Fill in the title, timing, and booking reference.
- Add notes that matter on the day (check-in window, gate, meeting point).
Put booking references on the reservation itself rather than scattering them across stop comments.
Update or cancel
- Edit a reservation when times or references change.
- Cancel when the booking is no longer valid but you want a record of what happened.
- Delete only when the entry was created by mistake and should not remain in history.
OpenTrip tracks revisions on reservation updates so concurrent edits stay consistent. If a save fails because someone else changed the same booking, reload and re-apply your change.
Keep itinerary and bookings aligned
Link mental models clearly:
- Stops describe where you intend to be.
- Reservations describe what you already booked.
A lodging stop and a lodging reservation often describe the same stay — keep names and dates consistent so the map, schedule, and reservations board agree.
Ask the companion for lodging ideas
The AI companion can search vacation rentals and propose options. Those searches are research tools — adding a stay to the trip still requires your approval, and recording a confirmation belongs on the reservations board. See AI companion.
On mobile
Reservations appear as one of the four planner tabs in the bottom navigation. The same create and edit flows run inside the mobile shell.
